Helping Out After the Procedure

As a caregiver, you will be in contact with doctors and other health care professionals frequently about the needs of your loved one. By now, you know that there will be certain things that you will need to do for your loved one after their cardiac procedure, including personal care assistance and household chores. And helping them to keep track of their medicines.

It’s also important to remember to take care of yourself. If you’re happy and healthy, the additional help you give your loved one will be easier and less stressful.

The American Medical Association has developed a set of materials to strengthen the relationship between the doctor and you, the caregiver. The packet includes a questionnaire that helps the doctor determine whether you might be at risk for high stress and health problems.

For more information about this packet, visit the American Medical Association.
